While we are waiting the official release of the new P3Dv5 hotfix to push further enhancements to our products, we have also been working a lot on PBR enhancements for Envshade which are now ready to be shared with you ! The first step is something that was requested by many of you : Being able to brighten the cockpits of PBR airplanes.
The PBR cockpits are usually too dark in Prepar3D, especially when using Envshade. While changing the brightness was already possible with non-PBR aircraft and the PMDG 737 NGXu, it was still not possible with many PBR aircraft like the Aerosoft A330, The Leonardo Maddog or the Milviz King Air 350i just to name a few.
This will soon be a thing of the past as Envshade now corrects this. Not only it adds a correct value by default but it also allows you to adjust this using the "Aircraft shadows depth" setting. Of course this also opens a door to diverse possible PBR enhancements that may come in the future.
The difference is quite obvious as you can see on the above and below before/after previews. This brings a much more realistic feeling and allows a much more comfortable use of PBR cockpits.
We will soon begin beta testing this new feature which should be available for P3D v4.4+ and v5 in the next updates. The P3Dv5 version will also contain several enhancements to the existing features but we will talk about this later.
For now, just keep an eye on our blog for more information about the next products updates to come. If you still don't have Envshade, don't forget we currently have a sale on SimMarket until June the 30th.
Happy flights !
I look forward to !)
