My product is not correctly activated in Envdir, what should I do ?"Product shows as "Not activated" in Envdir If you get this message, you should also have seen a pop-up window asking you to enter again your serial number for all of your installed products. This code will only work on the computer it was generated for.

Are your product compatible with my other addons ?All our products are fully compatible with any other 3rd party addons, including all weather engines (i.e. Hifi AS16, ASP4, ASN, ASE, ASCA, REX4, REX Skyforce), all orbx products or any 3rd party sceneries. For your comfort and ease of use, our products are customizable, you can disable any feature you don't want to be installed in case it would interfer with another product. Envshade is not compatible with PTA (Prepar3D Tweak Assistant) from Simtweaks as well as Tomatoshade, which may conflict with Envshade. However REX Environment Force is fully compatible and supported by Envshade. Do you need some guidance to make Envtex working with Hifi or REX weather engine? Please refer to "How to use Envtex with weather engines" below.
-
How to use Envtex with a weather engine from Hifi Simulation ?Nothing specific is required to use Envtex with AS16, ASP4 or ASN. If you use ASCA as well, please take a look at the details below: If you want to use Envtex sky textures with ASCA, you must enable "ASCA integration" in Envtex and enable "Sky colors" in ASCA. If you want to use Envtex clouds with ASCA, you must enable the corresponding cloud (Cirrus or Cumulus) in Envtex and disable the corresponding clouds (Cirrus or clouds) in ASCA. In ASCA integration setting, you must use "Envtex sky textures only" if you want ASCA to use only Envtex sky textures. If you want ASCA to use both Envtex and ASCA sky textures, then use "ASCA + Envtex sky textures" ASCA integration can only be enabled if you own Envtex, other products like Envshade or Envsound are compatible with it out of the box.
-
Is Envtex compatible with weather engines ?Envtex is fully compatible with any weather engine like ASP4, AS16, ASN or OpusFSI but you won't be able to use the ASCA integration feature if you don't use the ASP4 / AS16 + ASCA combo.
-
Is Envshade compatible with Reshade ?Yes, Envshade is fully compatible with Reshade, however we do not recommend to use it not to alter the realistic rendering of Envshade. We recommend instead to simply adjust your Prepar3D HDR values to make Envshade fit your tastes and/or monitor.
-
Is Envshade compatible with PTA and Tomatoshade ?Yes... and no, depending on the settings applied in PTA, both products can interfer and completely destroy your simulator shaders. While this can be simply reverted by the Envdir restore function, we recommend not to use PTA at the same time as Envshade. To use Envshade, please first restore your default simulator shaders in PTA. To use PTA, please disable Envshade or make a restore first if it was already installed. No specific actions are needed if you don't use PTA.
-
Do I need Envtex to use Envshade ?No, Envshade can be used as a standalone product, but the best results will be reached using Envtex and Envshade all together.
-
How to use Envtex with a weather engine from REX simulation ?Envtex can be used with any REX weather engine, we highly recommend to turn off the textures you don't want to use from REX in the corresponding user interface.

Envdir does not save my settingsThis usually happens when you have been using an older version of Envdir. One of the early version had a bug which was corrupting the user settings. The only way to solve this is to reset the settings once by clicking "Reset Envdir settings" from the windows start menu. If it does not work, please try again by right clicking and select "Run as an administrator". As the newer versions of Envdir do not have this issue anymore, the issue should not appear again.

Envdir crashes to desktopEnvdir needs .NET framework 4.5.2. If it is not installed on your system, you have normally been redirected to the official download link during the installation process. If it failed or if you removed it, Envtex may not be able to work. In case this happens, we recommend to check that .NET framework is still installed. If this is not the case, we invite you to download .NET framework from the official Microsoft website: www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=42642 Please also make sure that ASP.NET 4.7 is enabled on your system. To do so please: - Open Control Panel - Programs & Features - Turn Windows features on or off (top left on the page) - In the new panel : expand : ".NET Framework 4.7 Advanced Services" - Ensure that : ASP.NET 4.7 is ticked In case Envdir would continue to crash, please reset your settings by running "Envdir Troubleshooting" within the windows start menu. If you still get a crash to desktop, please feel free to contact us by mail or by using our support forum.

Envdir installation hangsPlease make sure you are running Envtex with admin rights. To do so right click on Envtex then “Properties”, take a look in the compatibility tab and check the box “Always run as an administrator”, apply and leave this window. Envtex should then install correctly the files to your simulator. If this does not work please also check if your simulator folder is not set as a hidden folder, as well as your suneffect.cfg file (located in "C:\ProgramData\LockheedMartin\Prepar3d vx\" for P3D).
-
Envdir launch sim button triggers an error messagePlease first check your simulator path is set correctly. If so, please make sure you are running Envtex with admin rights (see previous section). You can always run Envtex as an admin by checking the box “Always run as an administrator” in the windows program properties.
-
Envdir installation is very longEnvtex moves a huge amount of data during the install process, if you are using a slow hard drive disk or if you PC specs are low then installation can take a few minutes. This should not happen on usual or high end computers.
-
Envupdater is already used by another processSome users met an issue when trying to update Envdir and Env products. After clicking the update button, this message may appear: If this happens, please check if the windows user account control is enabled. If it is, please disable it and try to update again. If this does not help, please feel free to contact us, we will help you as quickly as possible.

Envtex makes my sun disappearPlease make sure you are running Envtex with admin rights. Envtex should then install correctly the files to your simulator. Envtex Aurora - Northern/Southern lights are not visibleThese are a P3D exclusive feature and require some specific settings as described in the Special effects chapter. They mostly appear during winter and only at high latitudes. We highly recommend to generate a new flight instead of loading a saved flight situation as the special effects may not be loading correctly by Prepar3D. Please check your Prepar3D settings are set to the minimum requirements: - Volumetric fog : Enabled - Scenery complexity : Normal or higher - Special effects detail : High - Special effects distance : High Also, please note that P3D has its own limitations and at the moment, auroras are visible only inside a limited circle. If you are using custom shaders, please consider using PTAbsolute as several 3rd party PTA presets or Ultimate realism pack are incompatible with our auroras due to extrem haze values. If you need more advises to find auroras, please check our aurora page to get some information and tips : https://togapjcts.wixsite.com/toga/auroras In case you would still not be able to find an aurora in Envtex, a 3rd party scenery is probably conflicting with Envtex, we recommend trying to set Envtex auroras to "Always visible" and check if you can see an aurora at CYRB airport (Resolute Bay). Please feel free to contact us in case of any trouble.
-
Envshade makes the ground or clouds disappearingThis means an incompatible version of shaders have been installed into your simulator, probably an older version of envshade into the latest version of Prepar3D. To solve this, please download and install the latest Envdir patch available from your SimMarket account.

My screen becomes completely white when using Envshade on P3Dv5The current version of P3Dv5 still have an issue with the bloom effect not working properly. For most users this does not create any issue other than the bloom not working as expected but for a few users, it creates a huge surexposure that makes the screen being completely white. If you meet this issue, please make sure to do one of these : - Decrease bloom to 0 (You will not lose anything as the bloom is not working properly at normal values) - Or disable completely P3Dv5 HDR (You will lose some Envshade features)
-
Do you accept repaint requests ?Unfortunately, due to the amount of work involved in our recent products, we do not have the resources anymore to actively create aircraft repaints. We will keep create repaints from time to time but we do not accept requests anymore.
-
Where can I find product manuals ?Our product manuals are a great sources of information about our products. All our manuals are available from the related product pages. All of the product information are also available from the Envdir help page by clicking the "User manual" button.
-
How realistic are the documents from your library ?Most of the documents in our library have been made during our founder's real world commercial pilot training. This can be used for flight simulation as well as real-world flying (The documents are complying the European rules). The airline cost index database has been built thanks to users feedbacks, some cost indexes might slightly differ from the real world values or might be outdated. Feel free to send your data to our team, it will be a pleasure to add your inputs into this document.
