Since 2016, we have brought three high quality products to enhance every aspect of the environment in your flight simulation experience from basic sounds to shaders that control the visuals of the simulator. But how exactly does this work?
ENVDIR is a user control interface that allows you to control all the TOGA products, including ENVTEX, ENVSHADE, ENVSOUND and ENVPLUS. Both products and ENVDIR communicate together to adjust settings, when you are ready ENVDIR injects everything into your simulator as explained on the graphic below.

Environment Director controls all TOGA products and some important P3D settings for the products to work properly. It communicates with your TOGA products wherever they are installed and injects textures, shaders and configuration settings into your simulator.
Allows advanced customization of TOGA products as well as the simulator itself
Replaces default textures and special effects for more realism and better resolution
Adjusts shader values to better control simulator visuals: lighting, shadows, reflections etc...
Adds custom realistic sounds to your simulator and replaces default rain and thunderstorm sounds
